According to Frost & Sullivan, the North American machine-to-machine (M2M) software and services market earned revenues of US$175.4mn in 2012 and could be worth US$788.4mn in 2018.

F&S reckons this market is being pumped up by: the sheer growth in need for information and the ability of enterprises to convert raw data into business insights; the increasing partnerships between systems; and the rising need for remote monitoring solutions for distributed assets.
